In The Promise Of Spring

 

New life is the promise that it brings

When the seasons change to Spring

 

After sitting dormant through the Winter cold

Bare tree branches bud leaf sprigs to behold

 

Nature's way new life is renewed once more

Sometimes coming back better than before!

 

When the oncoming of Spring is felt in the air

It awakens hibernating wildlife inside their lair

 

With its wake up call that Spring is here

And with it comes that time of the year

 

Wildlife begins their ways of propagation

To bring about new life for their creation

 

Springtime rings with sounds of bird songs

Sung to attract mates and before too long

 

The sounds of baby birds join in the choir

Of sounds sung out like Springtime criers

 

Rejoicing in the celebration of the Spring's arrival

And their Winter survival, in a Springtime revival

 

If you'll listen closely to the songs Springtime sings

You'll hear the sound of butterfly wing tamborines

 

Whenever metamorphosed butterflies flutter by

Catching the wind in breezes across blue skies

 

You'll hear the bee's buzz as they pollinate

From flower to flower and cross-pollinate

 

Plants which cannot self-pollinate themselves

Dusting them with pollen like little fairy elves

 

Pretty little hummingbirds in seeking nectar to drink

Spread new life too, flying as fast as you can blink

 

So that in Spring flowers can burst forth in bloom

In glorious ways that chase away Winter's gloom

 

There are wonderful things to see and hear

When it turns into the Spring time of year

 

But my favorite thing to see in Spring

Is what a pine tree in my yard brings

 

It makes crosses that reach upwards into the sky

That I think are reminders from God to you and I

 

That His Son, who wore a crown of thorns

Gave to each of us a chance to be reborn

 

And live forever in Heaven with our King

With His rebirth in the season of Spring

 

Life reborn Spring brings ...
