Goodbye ...

 

To let things go

It hurts me so

 

Saying goodbye

Makes me cry

 

I hate to leave the things behind

That were a past of love remind

 

I want for the past to still linger on

Because when past things are gone

 

It means that I'll have to

Face up to going through

 

New changes in my days

 In all my everyday ways

 

I want to stay in the past

I wanted the past to last

 

Right now to me the things I knew

Were much better than is this new

 

I'll have to face up to now

But I know that somehow

 

I'll have to let things go

Even though it hurts so

 

I will have to move on

From past things gone

 

I'll make a new past

That I'll want to last

 

I'll make another brand new start

In hopes it won't break my heart

 

Another past day someday

I'll again have to part ways

 

So please forgive my tears

But I have these fears ...

 

Even though I look forward

To the new moving onward

 

There'll come another day

I won't want again to say

 

   Goodbye ...

 

 

 I know it's hard when you have to let go

 Of all the things you've gotten to know

 

So I'm wishing you all the best
